Today, I had a fruitful meeting where we discussed certain details. However, not all of these details were discussed. While it's irrelevant to include all the specifics here, I can share some details that have been important to me from time to time:
One more solution to a corner-case in a Product Requirements Document (PRD) that has already been reviewed and approved but you know that it’s missing and it will have impact during delivery.
One more commit to decrease the milliseconds of an API call that is marked as "fast" in your reports but it’s crucial.
One more design variation to fix the width of a component, even if this fix isn't visible to the customer's eye but it’s important for the design system consistency.
Do not compromise the edges that matter. ~ Seth Godin
One more optimization tweak in a Marketing performance campaign that has achieved its monthly target but spend a lot of budget and you know that is “leaking”.
We can't address every detail. It's impossible, at least in a product world where speed is of the essence.
The truly experienced Product professional can identify the details that matter and go the extra mile to deliver them.
