This blog moved last night. From Notion and Super to Astro, a static site in a git repo, hosted on Cloudflare.
Kudos to Dimosthenis Avgeris, who suggested the switch.
Why? Faster. Cheaper. And the excuse to test a new tool. It always matters to check the good tools, even when the old one works.
How? I asked Fable 5.1, in ultracode mode, one question: is this a good idea?
Short answer: no.
It ran a full analysis. Sources, verification, a decision memo. Stay where you are, it said. The gains don’t justify the hours.
Ok. Do it.
It took less than an hour. Export, conversion, design, redirects, DNS. Not a single sophisticated prompt. Just plain sentences, one after the other.
Two things I keep from this.
Thanks, Dimo. A good nudge from someone you trust is worth more than a good analysis.
And reasoning still matters. The model was right on every fact and wrong on the decision, because it measured hours and dollars and I wanted something else: to own my words and to publish the way I write code now. A file, a commit, done. The machine gives you the answer to the question you asked. Asking the right question is still your job.
